What FFXIV Word Do You Want To Know How To Say?

It’s no secret that Final Fantasy has had some odd looking words within its titles over the past 26 years. Apostrophes around the world take one glance at words that exist within Eorzea and go “… wait what?”.

However have no fear, Aetheryte Radio is here to help! We’ll soon be sitting down with Michael Christopher Koji Fox (Fernehalwes) from Final Fantasy XIV’s Localization Team sometime in the near future to discuss some of the more harder to discuss things in the game- pronunciations!

He’s got a super top secret list he’s going to share with us that contains the correct pronunciation of various terms found within Final Fantasy XIV. But what’s that you say?  You want to know how to properly pronounce Shposhae? Or some other word?… like Fernehalwes?

Drop a comment below and let us know the one word that you’ve been struggling to pronounce correctly and we’ll make him say it right into the mic for all to hear! No more of this “I think it’s pronounced soapshay?” talk! We’ll get you the correct pronunciation from the man himself!

Mike FischerToday, Polygon has discovered that Square Enix North America’s President and CEO Michael Fischer has left the company.

This comes piled on top of news from back in March that Yoichi Wada would be leaving the company because of a 13 billion yen loss in revenue for the Fiscal year, and the recent layoffs that hit Square Enix’s North America branch. Fishcer’s Linked In page now states he is the Vice President of Digital Music and Video for Amazon Japan.

Currently the company is in the process of being restructured following what Yoichi Wada called poor sales of Hitman: Absolution, Sleeping Dogs, and Tomb Raider.

Square Enix To Broadcast Live At E3

Well OK now to be fair, we knew about this weeks ago when they announced Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn would have live streams attached to it at this year’s E3. However, Square Enix is looking to expand upon that and will have dedicated video programming during this year’s E3.

Marketing Director (Japan) Akio Oofuji said:

“SQUARE ENIX will be showcasing a terrific lineup of games this E3 Expo” … “Square Enix Presents is a new way we can engage on a more meaningful and personal level with our community and fans and share with them the spectacle and excitement of E3.”

Make sure to head on over you Youtube and follow Square Enix Presents to keep up with all of the information out of this year’s E3!

In about an hour and a half from now, Square Enix’s FFXIV Twitter accounts have been saying we’ll receive some news.

However, some quick people last night already saw some of the details regarding the announcement, which has since been taken offline. Luckily, someone used the ol’ print screen key and while we don’t have the release date, we do have the details of what digital items players will receive in the Collector’s Edition! (which appears will have early access to the game prior to launch, just like the 1.0 Collector’s Edition!)

“Players who own the FFXIV version 1.0 Collector’s Editiion will receive FFXIV:ARR Collector’s Edition in-game bonus items (Helm of Light, Baby Behemoth Minion, Behemoth Barding, and Coeurl Mount) for free. The in-game bonus items will be delivered via Moogle Letter with FFXIV: ARR launches.”

Additionally, there will be a Collector’s Edition digital upgrade service, allowing those with the regular edition of the game to upgrade and receive the above bonus items.

Amazon also has an image up of the new boxart for A Realm Reborn which can be seen here.

Today, Final Fantasy XI Producer Akihiko Matsui has taken to the official forums to inform players of the changes they can expect to the reive system in the future.

Changes include adjustments to the way evaluations are handled, adjustments and addition of new momentum bonuses and a more substantial reduction in the cost of they key items needed to take on wildskeeper reives.

Alan Wake Humble Bundle

Today, Remedy unleashed Alan Wake onto Humble Bundle as their weekly deal. Remedy’s Creative Director Sam Lake has a video on the page addressing fans of Alan Wake in regard to yesterday’s announcement that their next game will not be Alan Wake 2, but rather Quantum Break for the Xbox One. He states that they will make a new Alan Wake “when the time is right.”

For now, as a treat to Alan Wake fans, there is this week’s bundle which comes with the digital collector’s edition of Alan Wake in addition to Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. Additionally you’ll get access to early demo videos, “making of” videos, concept art and more!

With the option to name your price, there’s no reason not to jump into this story if you haven’t already!

Today on the game’s Facebook (Japan), 4 new screenshots were released showing the game (presumably) running on the PlayStation 3 hardware. In the images you can see a male Miqo’te Paladin participating in an NM F.A.T.E. A special note to make in these images is that the PLD is level 50 and he has been level synced down to lvl 23 for participating in the F.A.T.E. This way he can scale down and receive a reward as opposed to going in and being such a high level that no rewards are granted due to the level difference.
